In case you haven’t noticed, Democrats are going bananas trying to win America’s midterm elections. There is also leftist political mayhem in other countries, but more about that later.
In Michigan, a campaign ad for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed features a couple complaining about high prices. Holding a bunch of bananas, she tells her presumptive husband to put back some eggs, asking rhetorically, “We have to set that $7 aside – for killing Palestinians?”
Then they talk about how America sends billions in aid to Israel. This is akin to saying “the Jews are making you pay higher prices for your groceries.”
Mr. El-Sayed, an Islamist, said that his campaign didn’t run the ad, which in fact was from an outside group. But he refused to denounce it and doubled down, saying he didn’t want Americans paying to “drop bombs” on other countries.
In Texas, Democrats are running fake Christian James Talarico against Attorney General Ken Paxton, hoping that voters won’t notice the wolf’s hair poking out from Mr. Talarico’s sheep suit. His campaign slogan should be: “I’m living proof that even the devil quotes Scripture!”
In Colorado, Democrats are pulling out all stops to defeat a ballot initiative that would prohibit sex mutilation surgeries on minors, and another keeping female sports for females.
In Alaska, Democrats put a fake candidate on the ballot by the same name as incumbent U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan, a Republican, to try to siphon off enough votes to elect Democrat Mary Peltola. On Wednesday, the New York Times reported that Ms. Peltola and national Democrats collaborated on this ranked-choice voting scheme to steal the election.
The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit to delay certification of the election. On cue, Sen. Adam Schiff, the shameless California Democrat who led the first impeachment of Mr. Trump, said Republicans were trying to “subvert the elections.”
This is like Bernie Madoff accusing someone of playing fast and loose with a client’s money.
Not to worry, Mr. Schiff. U.S. District Judge Sharon Gleason, an Obama appointee, threw out the suit on Nov. 1.
Elsewhere, a group of “Democratic donors, dark-money groups and left-leaning super PACs has spent more than $10 million backing five independents in Republican-leaning areas,” according to Fox News.
In Nebraska, Idaho and South Dakota, for instance, Democrats withdrew from their races, putting independents who lean Democrat on the ballot. This makes sense because progressives have made “Democrat” synonymous with crazy, deviant, Islamist, or communist.
The party continues to push transgender insanity at all levels despite the public’s overwhelming revulsion against fictionally reworking God’s natural order and telling parents to like it or else.
The Democrats’ lockstep obsession with transgenderism doesn’t play well in states that President Donald Trump won by an average of 28 percentage points, like the ones mentioned above.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are pulling the party further left.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a human weather vane who is already campaigning to be president, told a PBS interviewer that the Democratic Party was “pretty aligned” with the DSA, especially on banning fossil fuels and having the government seize the health care system.
The DSA platform also calls for dismantling our constitutional republic and having wide open borders, confiscatory taxation, free housing, free food, free childcare, defunding the military, and forcing acceptance of transgenderism and abortions up to birth.
This is so flat-out insane you might think it is a hostile caricature, but it is real.
Now, a look at some other countries dealing with their version of Democrats.
Great Britain’s Labour party has moved further left under Prime Minister Andy Burnham, and the Green party is gaining adherents with its “eco-populist” schemes and pro-Palestinian stances. Jews don’t feel safe in the U.K. anymore, and the media are deliberately underreporting major protests by traditionalist Brits against mass immigration.
France continues to be convulsed with leftist protests and riots, despite President Emmanuel Macron offering a billion euros to them for college campuses and student grants. The socialist student/labor movement rejected the deal and has planned more demonstrations.
In South America, it’s been mostly good news, with a string of countries voting out leftists and installing free market governments, led by Argentina’s Javier Milei.
In Brazil, however, the trend toward Latin American liberty stalled with the Oct. 25 reelection of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a socialist ally of the communist regime in Cuba who had served three previous terms.
Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former conservative President Jair Bolsonaro, who is in prison for allegedly trying to overthrow the government, had won the first round of voting, but came up short in the runoff.
Mr. da Silva had a little help at the last minute. His former personal attorney, whom he appointed as a Supreme Federal Court justice, ordered the polls to stay open two hours longer at Mr. da Silva’s request. When the vote was in, surprise, Mr. da Silva was declared the winner.
If it reminds you of how ballots were counted in some U.S. states on and after Election Night in 2020, well, you must be an “election denier” like me.
Another justice appointed by Mr. da Silva ordered Mr. Bolsonaro to surrender his passport, but the candidate and his family fled the country and wound up in Miami.
Mr. Bolsonaro was wise to get out and come to what is still a free country.
On Nov. 3, we will learn just how long we might remain that way. I am cautiously optimistic that the pollsters predicting a blue wave will be deeply disappointed.
