One commentary is calling the social ideologies of Tom Steyer, a Democrat running for governor in California, “transanity.”

The comment followed a video posted online of Steyer praising a boy for competing in girls sports in school, and expressing Steyer’s hope for the boy’s success.

“I’m going to hope like heck that you don’t just make state but you do really well there,” he told the miniskirt-wearing boy.

Social media scorched Steyer.

“”Demonrats have made it 100% clear: They DO NOT CARE if women get hurt trying to play sports against men who are bigger and stronger.”

And, “This will become the norm if Democrats take over our government again.”

“It’s a boy.”

And, “Demonic.”

A commentary posted at RedState delivered this: “We’ve seen plenty of ‘transanity’ over the last few years, with transgender extremists demanding we call males ‘women,’ mothers ‘birthing people,’ and individuals ‘they.’ My general philosophy has always been, ‘you be you, and I’ll be me,’ and that’s all well and good — but there are two places where that concept is overruled and where I believe we as a society need to draw a red line.”

It continued, “One: When it comes to this advocating that we mutilate minors suffering from gender dysphoria to ‘become’ their chosen ‘gender identity,’ just say no; and two, when it comes to allowing biological males to compete against females, often taking their trophies and regularly injuring them, it is so obviously wrong that it boggles the mind that anyone would champion the practice.”

The video shows a staged interview between Steyer and “controversial trans athlete AB Hernandez of Jurupa Valley High School.”

That boy, in fact, is the one Steyer hopes “beats the hell out of the ladies in the upcoming state championship,” the commentary said.

Steyer added, “Most people support you 90% of the time. Just not the 10% you need them for. If we’re going to be on side then we’re on side 100% of the time.”

He also said the job of the governor is to “stand between danger and Californians.”

He takes that “super, super, super seriously.”

Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton has another perspective.

Hilton said, “The first thing we have to do is overturn the law that set all this in motion, AB 1266, that was passed in 2013, that’s why we’ve been living with this for so long. That law violates the California state constitution… I will immediately suspend the law while we begin legal proceedings to overturn it.”
