The Department of Justice has sued the bar association for the District of Columbia over its role in the well-documented and long-running weaponizing of government and other interests against President Donald Trump and his associates and supporters.

Democrats dating back to the Barack Obama administration have utilized the responsibilities and authorities of government to attack Trump. A recent report confirmed there was no legal basis for the FBI’s raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home during Joe Biden’s tenure, for instance.

There have been many legal schemes launched specifically to attack Trump, including multiple court cases from Jack Smith, a onetime specially appointed prosecutor, and Georgia’s own scandal-plagued prosecutor, Fani Willis.

Extending the agenda beyond President Trump himself, leftists in various positions of power have used their authority to attack his associates, including bar associations that have attacked lawyers who simply represented Trump or his campaign in court.

Now a report at Just the News reveals the federal lawsuit by the DOJ against the District of Columbia Bar Association is over its attack on former Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Clark.

He faced investigation for his role in discussions around the 2020 presidential election, specifically a draft letter concerning allegations of election fraud in Georgia.

The DOJ confirmed the letter never was finalized, or sent, meaning disciplinary proceedings based on it improperly targeted internal executive branch deliberations, the report explained.

“The lawsuit aligns with President Donald Trump’s Executive Order titled Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government and a related presidential memorandum aimed at limiting what the administration describes as politically motivated uses of legal and regulatory processes,” the report explained.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed the legal filing makes clear that “the DC Bar has long acted as a blatantly partisan arm of leftist causes. No more.”

And associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward, who filed the complaint, charged, “President Trump promised to put an end to the weaponization of the legal process, and today’s lawsuit against the D.C. Bar makes good on that promise. The D.C. Bar will no longer be permitted to probe sensitive executive branch deliberations and target executive branch officials with whom they happen to politically disagree, and federal attorneys will once again be free to share their candid legal advice with their bosses and colleagues.”
