Six years after his death during an arrest by Minneapolis police, George Floyd is not to be fodder for comedians. So says the activist group Black Lives Matter, which was birthed and quickly grew influential after the Minnesota man’s demise.
The joke that has offended BLM was told by Tony Hinchcliffe during Sunday’s Netflix televised roast of fellow comedian Kevin Hart.
“You’ve done good, Kevin. The black community is so proud of you,” Hinchcliffe said. “Right now, George Floyd is looking up at us all, laughing so hard he can’t breathe.”
Famously, Floyd, a longtime drug addict under the influence during his arrest, told arresting officers he couldn’t breathe – though he was able to speak.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the roast featured an array of actors, athletes and comedians gathering at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, to rib Hart on a variety of subjects.
In response to the Floyd joke, Hart burst out laughing.
Warning: sexual humor included:

Wednesday a group of BLM activists held a press conference to denounce Netflix for allowing the joke.
Stated one of the activists, “This is not a laughing matter. We are here today to call your attention to the fact that an egregious, disgusting joke was made about George Floyd.
“… We have Netflix comedians making light of the brutal killing of George Floyd. It is unacceptable and unconscionable.”
