Feds issue warning to school that is ‘indifferent’ to requirements to protect girls from transgender boys

The public school district in Jefferson County, Colorado, has plunged head-first into the LGBT ideology, specifically transgenderism, and has been sued over its activism already.

It routinely assigns males and females to share rooms – even beds – on school trips, and then tells parents the genders are kept apart on different hotel floors, failing to explain that a boy who says he is a girl is treated like a girl.

There’s about to be a payment for such behavior, which the federal government has described as an “indifference” to the federal Title IX law.

A report posted on line at Fox explains the U.S. Department of Education now has issued a warning letter to officials in the Jefferson County district.

It follows the federal department’s determination a few weeks ago that the district probably put up to 61 male students on sports teams for girls.

“Wednesday’s letter warns the district that it has 10 days to come to a resolution with ED, or it will receive a follow-up letter of impending enforcement action, and risks termination of the district’s federal education funding,” the report said.

“Not only did the district trample on females’ sex-based protections by allowing males to compete in their sports, intrude in their bathrooms, and sleep in their overnight accommodations, but now it refuses to fix the problem after being given the chance. It is indifferent to the law and to the safety, privacy, and dignity of women and girls. Its behavior here is unconscionable,” charged Kimberly Richey, the agency’s assistant Secretary for Civil Rights.

“The district must restore Title IX protections or risk further enforcement action. As we continue to honor June as Title IX Month, the Trump Administration will not allow students to continue to be abused at the hands of a radical ideological agenda that undermines the basic protections to which they are entitled under law.”

Federal investigators spent months looking into problems that have been confirmed at the district in multiple venues.

The review was triggered by confirmation that the district had canceled procedures that assure boys are assigned to share rooms and beds with boys, and girls with girls on school trips.

“Federal investigators said their review uncovered broader violations, concluding the district also allowed male students to access female-only facilities and compete on girls’ teams,” the report said.

The district earlier was described has having thumbed its nose at federal law.

It was because a district official issued a statement complaining that the federal government is wrong.

“Providing equal access to programs and services for all Jeffco students, including those who are transgender, does not violate Title IX,” the statement said. “The Department’s interpretation has no basis in the Title IX regulations and is not supported by any binding court decision. It conflicts with a recent U.S. District of Colorado decision which considered the same Jeffco policies.”

The district statement said it would not be bound by the decisions from the Trump administration and would lean on the words of leftist Democrats who previously were in the White House, as, “Prior federal administrations have taken the direct opposite view—that Title IX protects transgender students’ access to school programs and facilities.”

Joe Biden’s administration, in fact, chose as one of its highest priorities the promotion of LGBT lifestyle choices, especially the transgender ideology which it promoted throughout American government and around the globe. The ideology is failed, as scientifically, males cannot become females or vice versa.

Further, the schools claim that the extreme leftist agenda on the state of Colorado, which has attacked Christians for their faith, demanded to control the speech of counselors, tried unsuccessfully to control the faith statements of business owners, pushed LGBT ideologies everywhere under the guidance of homosexual Gov. Jared Polis, and more, requires them to subject girls to boys in their locker rooms.

The school statement cited the high authority of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, which repeatedly has lost at the U.S. Supreme Court, for having “interpreted state law to require school districts to accommodate students based on their gender identity.”
