Vice President JD Vance traveled to Michigan to speak on behalf of the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, and used the opportunity to excoriate Democrat candidate Abdul El-Sayed for talking about Vance’s family members.

Address a rally in support of Rep. Mike Rogers, Vance said: “Now, the last thing I’ll say about Abdul, Mr. El-Sayed, is he has a weird habit of talking about my family. Have you noticed this? Yeah.

“You know, look, I don’t know who his wife is. I’m sure she’s a lovely person, but I would never come to this state and disrespect you or disrespect somebody’s family by talking about another person’s wife, a person who isn’t on the ballot. And yet, Abdul El-Sayed, every time they put a microphone in front of his face, he wants to talk about my wife or my grandfather.”

In a video excerpt posted to X, Vance culminated with: “Whatever you want to talk about, Abdul, keep my wife’s name the hell out of your mouth because she’s way out of your league.”
