The rap sheet for a Democrat running against Republican Rep. Max Miller in Ohio’s Seventh Congressional District has a rap sheet date back years, and it includes allegations that he slapped a man at a baseball game, and got ejected for it.
The Washington Free Beacon reports it searched the records of Ohio Democratic candidate Brian Poindexted to make the discoveries.
He also was arrested “for allegedly swallowing a rock of crack cocaine at a traffic stop,” the report said.
The report explains Poindexter, a city councilman and former union organizer, “has a criminal rap sheet dating back to the late 1990s.”
“The news could complicate the race, where Miller is facing his own legal issues and accusations of physically assaulting his ex-wife, including claims that he threw scalding water on her and threatened her at gunpoint,” the report pointed out.
The publication explained on Jan. 23, 1998, Poindexter, then 18, was stopped by police in Cleveland.
The police report said, “Poindexter allegedly pulled out ‘some small objects from his coat pocket and put them into his mouth’ and ‘began to swallow them.'”
There was a scuffle when the officer tried to retrieve the objects and the two men fell to the ground, with the officer eventually recovering a “rock of suspected crack cocaine,” records show.
The report said it was unclear whether there was a prosecution and Poindexter’s campaign rejected “any implication” that he used hard drugs.
Another police record shows in was in 2013 when he was arrested for assault and booted from a Cleveland Indians game.
A police report said he, “for no known reason,” slapped a stranger.
The man on the receiving end of that alleged slap, Bob Rzepka, 55, told the Washington Free Beacon that he was attending the game with his son on “Dollar Dog Day.”
They reportedly saw Poindexter swallow a “whole freaking hot dog” in one bite.
“He opened up one of the dollar dogs, and he shoved that whole thing in his mouth in one fell swoop, and just swallowed it. Bread, hot dog, everything,” Rzepka told the Free Beacon. “Me and my son both witnessed it.”

He explained, “I said, ‘Hey man, if I buy you a hot dog, will you shove that —-ing thing down your throat like you did? And can I get a video of it? Because people will never believe me.'”
The report said Poindexter “took offense,” and “smacked me,” Rzepka told the publication.
“Rzepka said two police officers were watching nearby. They quickly grabbed Poindexter and tossed him out of the stadium. Poindexter then allegedly stood outside the fence and shouted insults at Rzepka, forcing him and his son to move seats,” the publication said.
Rzepka accused the candidate of having “some anger issues.”
He said he chose not to press charges.
