A candidate for the Washington state House of Representatives, Democrat Krista Perez, is on camera admitting she had been drinking, refusing sobriety tests, and insisting she be allowed to go home.
This after allegedly causing a crash that damaged five vehicles.
She was filmed, eventually, praying and weeping in the back of a patrol car after her arrest for driving under the influence.

A Fox report confirmed she was first in last month’s primary for Legislative District 29, Position 1, and will face incumbent state Representative Melanie Morgan—also a Democrat—in November, as the top two vote-getters advance to the general election.
The crash reports come from Tacoma police, who charged her 2019 Chevrolet Silverado allegedly struck a parked car on South G Street shortly after midnight on Aug. 11, triggering a chain reaction that damaged five vehicles.
Seattle’s “Jason Rantz Show” reported on the allegations.
Prosecutors charged her with driving under the influence, with an aggravating factor for refusing to submit to testing related to the accident and a subsequent encounter with police.
The images are from body camera footage, which show police questioning her after the accident and her arrest.
When officers arrived at the scene of the accident, they asked her about it. She denied being in an accident.
She admitted having had “a little wine.”
She told officers she wanted to go home, and then refused sobriety tests, repeating over and over she was “disoriented.”
The officer responded, “You aren’t going home first. I’m telling you right now, okay? So, your decision regarding the test—yes or no—has to be made tonight, right now, not when you get home. Do you want to take these tests or not?”
She responded that she didn’t know what it meant when the officer told her she was under arrest.
The report said, “In the video, she is seen inside the patrol car sobbing, praying, and asking God for help; the weeping continued for several minutes. ‘Help me, God. Help me. Help me. Holy Spirit, help me, God,'” she said.”
