A real estate agent from Arizona was in the news recently, not in a good way, for being duct-taped to his first-class seat after “flipping out” on a flight from Dallas Texas, to Newark, New Jersey.
Shortly afterward, as WND reported, it was revealed that famed author Jonathan Cahn had been the target of real estate agent Layne Lundeen’s antagonism.
Now Lundeen has revealed a startling circumstance of the episode: He can’t remember it.
According to a report in the Banner, the publication obtained a copy of the comments during his initial court appearance on charges of second-degree assault and disorderly conduct, and he said he had had two drinks and no further recollection of his activities, aside from speaking to a fellow passenger.
“I don’t remember any of what happened,” Lundeen, 67, of Tucson, Arizona, told District Court Commissioner George Haag at the Jennifer Road Detention Center, the report explained.
He was duct-taped to his seat and restrained on the Sept. 3 flight, then taken into custody in Maryland.
Haag had advised Lundeen of the charges, and he responded, “I assaulted a police officer? Is that what it says? I don’t have my glasses. … Oh my God. What a mess. I don’t remember any of it.”
Police documented that passengers reported Lundeen was “increasingly unruly” on the flight, spewing objectionable language and slurs.
A Daily Mail report said Lundeen explained he was flying to help one of his daughters move into a new apartment and celebrate her birthday.
He said, “I came to New York City. I don’t know how I got to Maryland. I was supposed to land in New Jersey. I got a double whammy for my trip, now it’s a triple whammy.”
He was ordered to stay away from drugs and alcohol and a trial date was set, Oct. 19.
Cahn told the Daily Mail, afterward, Lundeen “grabbed him by the throat, hit him and broke his laptop midflight.”
The two had shared their religious beliefs, Cahn explained, and suddenly, “In a ‘split second,’ Cahn claimed, Lundeen, who he believes had just a couple of drinks, became enraged and started cursing at him and God.”
The Daily Mail said:
It was when married Cahn, 66, started talking about his own experiences of God that Lundeen allegedly saw red and ‘turned.’
‘His face changed, his voice changed, and he said… almost in a whisper, he was like, “I have something to tell you,” and he said, “Bulls***,”‘ Cahn alleged.
Cahn claimed he tried to withdraw from Lundeen by doing some work on his laptop, but his seatmate allegedly then began knocking on his screen and attempting to get him to talk again.
He said a flight attendant allegedly then came over to tell him to quiet down.
As the saga escalated, Lundeen allegedly called a black flight attendant the N-word and made homophobic comments, according to TMZ.
Cahn claimed that Lundeen then hit his chest and abdomen ‘like he’s trying to start a fight,’ before allegedly threatening: ‘I’m gonna punch your f***** Jewish face in.’
He claimed he had a ‘feeling’ Lundeen wanted to destroy his laptop, so he got up from his seat, taking his computer and cellphone with him.
But he said when he stood up, Lundeen allegedly lunged for his laptop and tried to wrestle it off him – leaving the whole plane in ‘shock.’
Other passengers restrained Lundeen.
WorldNetDaily had reported on the incident when it happened, and explained how Cahn explained he was the victim of a “demonic” attack.

“There’s more to this story than the media will ever tell you or know. There’s more to the story than even the people on the plane realized and the crew realized or the FBI realized when they came on.”

Cahn explained Lundeen apparently was “triggered” when he saw the cover of Cahn’s newly released book, “The Altar of Pergamon.”

“What changed was me telling him the gospel and then getting into the reality of the real power of God on Earth and in our lives,” Cahn says.
“It was as if it wasn’t his hatred or rage, but someone else’s speaking acting through him … directed at me. I have no question it was the hatred and the rage and the fury of the enemy (Satan).”

Lundeen has since been fired from his position at Tucson-based Long Realty, with the company saying on Facebook: “Long Realty is aware of reports concerning criminal charges filed against a former affiliated real estate agent arising from an incident that allegedly occurred during a commercial flight. Upon learning of the incident, Long Realty promptly ended its affiliation with the individual. The individual is no longer associated with or authorized to represent Long Realty in any capacity.”
