It’s not just Democrats who are riding the impeachment bandwagon.

Republican U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky filed eight articles of impeachment on Tuesday against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

Massie said on the House floor: “Resolved, that Peter Brian Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, also referred to as Secretary of War by the administration, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate.”

“In his conduct while Secretary of Defense, Peter Brian Hegseth, in violation of his oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed – especially with regard to the commission of war – has abused the powers of the Department of Defense,” the document states.

U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche fired back against the impeachment push at Tuesday’s White House press briefing, saying: “Secretary Hegseth is doing a phenomenal job, and the Secretary of War doesn’t just go off and do things, he follows the law.”

“And so the DOJ plays a role in that, and we play an active role in making sure the laws are complied with.”

“He’s not doing anything wrong,” Blanche stressed. “I guess you’ll have to talk to Massie about that.”
