A stunning video has been posted online of a man being struck by lightning.
Thomas Fahmy, the man who was hit during a storm on Staten Island, reported walking away after and having no burns or major injuries.
And he promptly went to church to say, “Thank you, God.”

He’s a staffer for U.S. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., who issued a statement: “We are happy, grateful and relieved that Thomas, a valued member of our Staten Island office, is alive and well after being struck by lightning last week. We appreciate the good samaritan and medical staff at Staten Island University Hospital who helped him get emergency care.”

It happened last Thursday when he was en route to a dentist appointment and he grabbed an umbrella because of the storm, making his way to his car.
A report at RedState cited the video, explain, “Fahmy can be seen walking down the sidewalk and passing a large tree when a huge lightning bolt hits him, knocking him to the ground. He lays there for a few seconds before getting up and staggering to the neighbor’s house for help.”
He was monitored in a hospital overnight but had no burns.
He explained, “I was nearly 15, 20 feet away from my car when I was struck by lightning. It was a very intense burning sensation, tingling, numbness, pain. Severe pain in both of my feet.”
He hollered for help and Stefanie Homan, a neighbor, said, “I heard yelling, heard ‘help me, help me,’ so I ran to my door and saw him down here on the ground, so I got the phone and called 911.”
Overnight followed at Northwell Staten Island University Hospital before he was discharged with “no burns at all.”
“I went on church Sunday to say thank you God,” he said.
