A Cuban diplomat assigned by his nation to the United Nations, and whose antics were described as going after the American representation, is being expelled from the United States.
A report at RedState revealed Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signed paperwork ordering the Cuban, Richard Tur de la Concepcion, to be physically removed from the United States.
He had been first secretary of Cuba’s delegation to the U.N., but engaged in suspect behavior after Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla had interrupted comments from U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz during Tuesday’s U.N. meeting.
Parrilla had apparently offered a physical threat by approaching the podium and triggered Waltz to order him to back away.
“He’s gone. He is going to be on a plane to Havana within the next 24 hours,” Waltz said.
“You lay a hand on an American here in the United States, President Trump, Secretary Rubio and myself, we’re not gonna stand for it,” he said.

RedState opined, “Hopefully they toss a T-shirt on this guy that says ‘I got in Mike Waltz’s face and all I got was this stupid T-shirt’ or some such variation.”
The Cuban delegation created the ruckus during a debate on the longstanding U.S. embargo on Cuba. Waltz explained how the Cuban regime was enriching its elites at the expense of citizens.
RedState reported, “His comments — which were accurate — prompted Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla to interrupt the speech. So upset was he that Parrilla approached the podium and called Waltz a liar. Waltz immediately blasted the minister, saying he would not intimidate him in America the way the communist regime tries to intimidate its political prisoners.”
Waltz warned, “And I’m the representative of the United States of America. Back up! Back away. This isn’t Havana. You’re not going to intimidate me. Do you understand who you’re dealing with?”

RedState said, “Concepción understands. Or at least he will shortly. And he’ll be back in his element, back in Havana, quite soon.
The report said while Waltz and Parrilla exchanged “heated words,” “Concepción allegedly tried to grab the phone of the ambassador’s spokesman, J.P. Freire, as he recorded the exchange.”
The New York Post described the incident as an “assault.”

“Do you understand who you’re dealing with? This is America!” A heated exchange erupts after Cuba’s foreign minister approaches the podium while U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz was speaking at the United Nations. “Back up, ambassador! This isn’t Havana.” Waltz repeatedly demands that Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla back away, accusing him of trying to intimidate the U.S. representative as the two exchange sharp words in front of the General Assembly. “This is America. This is not your communist dictatorship. You cannot silence me.” The confrontation comes as the U.N. prepares to vote on a resolution calling for an end to the U.S. embargo on Cuba. While there are certain privileges accorded U.N. members in the organization’s facilities in New York, nothing exempts members from U.S. and New York law entirely.
