Democrats running for, and now elected to, Congress have been promising for months already that their agenda is going to be investigations, impeachments, prosecutions, and harassment of anyone in the Trump administration.
Essentially a weaponization of the entirety of federal government against their political enemies.
After all, that was their agenda during President Donald Trump’s first term. And for the four years between his terms. They haven’t been doing it, as much, in his second as the Republican Party holds the majorities.
That limit is off for the last two years of Trump’s second, and one Democrat already has ordered Republicans to “lawyer up.” Others have chortled gleefully about investigations of Trump and his family. Of course impeachment dominates their agenda. One Democrat demanded prosecutions of Republicans so it would send a message of “deterrence” for young people who might want to work in government.
But that agenda is going to end up a “train wreck,” according to expert Jonathan Turley, a law professor whose detailed knowledge of the Constitution at times has guided the actions of Congress.
Turley noted that the nation’s economy is doing “very well” right now, it’s just fuel prices have been spiked by the conflict with Iran, and people are feeling that impact.
He said Democrats who will take over congressional committee chairmanships after the holidays “don’t have much to offer.” Further, the handful of ardent Marxism advocates who make up the Democrat Socialists of America wing of the party will have outside influence, disrupting congressional actions, he said.
“This is going to be a bit of a train wreck.”

He said Democrats will be unable to move their demanded reforms because they won’t have the votes, and of course there will be Trump in the White House with a veto pen.

Daugherty noted that Turley’s warning is that “buyer’s remorse is about to sweep America.”
