There’s a Barack Obama-appointed federal judge in Georgia who is caught up in one of the most embarrassing types of scandals: She’s accused of having loudly noticeable sex with a married man, repeatedly, in her chambers.
But that’s not why the Department of Justice now has requested that Eleanor Ross be removed from a case.
That is because of an obvious conflict for her, as she once attended an event honoring Fani Willis, who spent millions of dollars unsuccessfully prosecuting President Donald Trump. And the pending case is over election records.
The Washington Examiner reported the case is an election records lawsuit against George Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
Ross, whose scandalous behavior has brought out other calls for her to be removed from the bench entirely, went to an event to raise funds for Willis, the Fulton County district attorney who now is facing millions of dollars in claims in compensation for legal fees for her RICO case against Trump and others that failed.
The report said, “While the court did not publicly announce which judge appeared at Fani Willis’ rally in its initial report, the DOJ believes the judge is Ross based on news reports.”
Already, the 11th Judicial Circuit has found Ross involved in “judicial misconduct” for attending the partisan Willis event.
A DEI federal judge appointed by President Obama has received only a private reprimand for repeatedly having sex with a man inside the judge’s chambers during court business hours.

“This reported misconduct necessitates Judge Ross’s recusal because, if Judge Ross is indeed the Subject Judge, it creates the appearance of bias,” the DOJ has argued to the court.
Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon signed the request.
“A judge who attended a party celebrating the election of a Democrat best known for prosecuting a Republican President for alleged election interference cannot then preside over a case concerning that President’s efforts to ensure election integrity,” the DOJ said.
The DOJ actually noted the judge’s sex scandal, but confirmed that did not play a role in its request.
Georgia is one of many states that the DOJ is suing over their voter rolls.
A column at Fox News bluntly said Ross “admittedly – and illegally – attended a partisan Democrat fundraiser” for Willis.
“Obviously, Ross’ attendance makes clear she isn’t impartial,” the commentary said.
“But this is just the beginning of Ross’s legal troubles. Indeed, news recently emerged that she defiled and dishonored her position by admittedly having years of extramarital sexual relations with Atlanta deputy police chief Kelley Collier in her chambers during work hours–trysts overheard by her staff. She lied about it when caught. She retaliated against her staff who reported it,” the commentary explained.
“Ross should either resign or face impeachment from Congress for her egregious misconduct. She should also face federal criminal prosecution for lying to federal investigators,” it said.
The report continued, “This egregious sexual misconduct occurred over the course of several years, from 2023 until 2025. Ross cursed at staff when they lodged appropriate objections to her illegal behavior. Retaliatory behavior against a whistleblower who reported a judge’s wrongdoing has no place in our federal judiciary.”
The judiciary, so far, has delivered a private, secret, reprimand.
