A judge has ruled that North Carolina violated its own law by letting nonresidents vote in elections.
Republicans, led by President Donald Trump, have in recent years tried to raise the level of security for U.S. elections, by voter ID and other such requirements. Pending is a national SAVE America Act to do that.
Meanwhile, Democrats have insisted that such voter fraud simply doesn’t exist, despite a long list of cases that actually have been prosecuted in recent years.
Now Just the News reports the Republican National Committee was celebrating a recent ruling that said the North Carolina state Board of Elections violated the state constitution by letting nonresidents vote in federal elections.

Harmeet Dhillon, the assistant attorney general for the U.S., was among those citing the ruling, and pointing out the claims that the problem is nonexistent.
“Wait I was told this never happened,” she said.
Others noted, “I was surprised to read this too. According to @TheDemocrats they can’t vote in these elections.”
“That thing that never happens has happened again.”
“Turns out Democrats lie … shocking I know.”
And, “So the thing we’ve all been saying, the thing we’ve all known, the thing they called us conspiracy theorists for, the thing an overwhelming amount of Americans want passed in the senate to prevent the conspiracy … turns out is true….. AGAIN?”
A report at Not the Bee noted the RNC had sued the state for letting nonresidents vote, and a Wake County Superior Court judge ruled in its favor.
The report said, “Yes, NC was letting people who never lived in the state vote in elections and only stopped when the courts ordered them to do so. But, somehow, the state thought that people who didn’t live in North Carolina should be able to vote in federal elections.”
Just the News said that the North Carolina Supreme Court last year said people who never have lived in the state cannot vote in elections.
At that point the state stopped nonresidents from voting in state elections, but the state did not change its practice for federal electins.
“This is a clear win for fair and lawful elections,” RNC chairman Joe Gruters said. “The court upheld the North Carolina Constitution and made clear that only North Carolina residents can vote in the state. The RNC will keep fighting to ensure only eligible citizens can vote.”
