President Donald Trump on Sunday launched a verbal attack against a federal judge who has worked to halt construction of a ballroom and “DronePort” on White House grounds.
Along with two images of what the DronePort will look like, Trump posted on Truth Social: “The DronePort at the White House Ballroom will be, perhaps, the most sophisticated anywhere in the World! It will safeguard our Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C., long into the future.
“Judge Richard Leon should stop playing games with America’s Security! If anything happens, he will be held responsible for the Death and Destruction caused to our Country.

“He has already created enough problems by allowing ‘Top Secret’ information to be released and exposed based on a ridiculous lawsuit started by a highly litigious woman (serial plaintiff!) whose ‘strolling,’ in her opinion, will be disturbed by the new, desperately needed structure – In any event, a woman who has absolutely no STANDING!
“With the advent of highly sophisticated, and powerful, modern day weaponry, we can no longer defend Washington, D.C., with rifles and pistols, alone. This ridiculous lawsuit must be dismissed, IMMEDIATELY!”
Last week, the U.S. Justice Department again asked Leon, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, to lift an injunction delaying progress on the ballroom and DronePort, saying this month’s shooting outside the White House evinced the pressing need for heightened security.
“This is a terrible, tremendously harmful case to the United States of America, and all it stands for!” the court filing stated, according to Reuters.
Last month, Judge Leon ruled Trump did not have legal authority to construct the ballroom without approval from Congress.
He issued an injunction stopping “above-ground construction of the planned ballroom,” but his order was quickly put on hold by an appeals court, and construction has continued.
In April, as WorldNetDaily reported, the Justice Department and U.S. Secret Service explained why the project should go forward.
“A dormant excavation site adjacent to the exposed Executive Mansion itself poses serious safety and security threats,” the DOJ said. “The court is not positioned to second-guess these determinations about what is needed to ensure presidential security, let alone to superintend the construction process. The court should therefore make clear that it does not intend to do either of those things.”

In the filing, Matthew Quinn, the deputy director of the Secret Service, said the “current unfinished construction site compromises the ability of Secret Service personnel” to protect the White House.
He continued, “Given these security risks, along with the vulnerabilities of the already-constructed below-ground structures, leaving nothing on top of the below-ground construction is not an option. The project is a single, coherent whole. An above-ground slab and topping structure is needed to ensure that key underground structures with a security purpose are properly protected and strengthened.”
