A Mets baseball player, first baseman Jared Young, was laid out on the dirt unconscious after a collision with a teammate’s knee in a game Thursday.
He was all right, but social media immediate dinged the rescue squad after members fumbled and struggled to operate the stretcher on which Young was placed.

A report at the Gateway Pundit said the “terrifying collision” happened when Mets pitcher Nolan McLean raced toward first base to field a ground ball. McLean attempted the cover the bag and his knee slammed into Young’s head.
Young law motionless for a time, and then the medical team “turned” the events “into a viral embarrassment.”
Members struggled and fumbled trying to operate the stretcher.
Young then left the field giving a thumbs-up, and a hospital CT scan came back negative.
The report said viewers questioned “the apparent confusion and difficulty involved in removing the injured player from the field.”
Commenters said, “As a paramedic, this is tough to watch. … No excuse for the sloppiness from that crew.”
“This was the most painful part of this entire accident. Like the three stooges out there.”
“And, “I’m a nurse. Part of my job description dictates that I be able to lift 50 pounds. It’s literally in my contract. They need better fitness to be lifting stretchers. Goodness.”
