‘Stop being a pr*ck’: Watch John Cornyn get pounded for not endorsing fellow Republican Ken Paxton

With control of the U.S. hanging in the balance, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, was hammered Sunday for neither endorsing nor campaigning for Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton, the GOP nominee running for Senate in the Lone Star State against Democrat James Talarico.

Cornyn was crushed by Paxton 62.5% to 37.5% in a May Republican runoff after President Donald Trump endorsed Paxton over Cornyn, whom many consider to be a RINO, or Republican in Name Only.

“John Cornyn has to end the pity party,” said Fox News contributor Joe Concha on Sunday’s episode of “The Big Weekend Show.”

“Stop being Thom Tillis. Stop being a pr*ck and get out and get your guy elected because that’s a lot of voters that John Cornyn got in that primary.

“And the fact that he’s still resisting phone calls? Be a man, take the call and figure out what you gotta do because you’re gonna have a guy that is far to the left of Beta O’Rourke, if that’s possible, as a senator in Texas. And it could be the difference between Republicans controlling the Senate and Democrats controlling the Senate, and that is a very big deal.”

Concha pointed out, “Donald Trump won that state by 14 points. And you’re gonna let a flawed candidate like James Talarico eliminate what is essentially a two touchdown lead? You’re going to lose that many Trump voters?”

While noting Trump not on the ballot, “He endorsed Paxton, so this is his guy. This is his guy and he better go to bat for him.”

Paxton appeared on the program and was asked if he was having conversations with Cornyn to come aboard his campaign, as polls show a tight race with Talarico leading.

“I’d love to have John’s support,” said Paxton. “You’d have to ask him. It’s totally up to him as to what he wants to do.”

Political commentator David J. Freeman agreed with Concha, saying: “Texas doesn’t get to sleepwalk this one. Californians keep pouring in. Some get it. Some bring the same politics they fled and forget why they left.”

“Meanwhile Ken Paxton’s sitting on a huge Trump runway, James Talarico’s the Democrat, and too many conservatives are acting like the election already finished itself.

“Complacency is how red states go soft. Trump endorsed Paxton. RINO Cornyn needs to stop the pity party and help close it. Lose Texas energy in a Senate fight and you don’t just lose a race. You hand Democrats the chamber. Wake up. Vote like it matters. Because it does.”
