President Donald Trump has described Maria Bartiromo, who was fired this week by Fox News, as a “total professional, and a true warrior,” even as reports suggested she was dismissed by the network for wanting to report on election integrity.
That after the network paid out a $700 million settlement over its reporting years ago on the potential for election fraud.
“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social account. “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
Among others, Variety said Fox News “believes Bartiromo shared with the White House a directive that the network’s bosses issued to executive producers at Fox Business cautioning staffers against supporting outlandish claims made by Trump.”
Fox only described Bartiromo’s dismissal as “a business decision,” but Fox earlier settled a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit filed by voting machine company Dominion Voting, brought in 2021, for $787.5 million.
Puck News revealed, “The Maria Bartiromo backstory, per multiple sources familiar…. Maria Bartiromo wanted to pursue a story related to China and 2020 election voting conspiracies… a major sensitivity for the network given its Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits. A Fox Business executive sent a text to Fox Business producers informing them that that story could not go to air. Bartiromo took a screen shot of the guidance and sent it to senior White House officials.
“Fox News leadership learned about that after receiving a call from the White House, which they viewed as a fireable offense. Fox pulled Bartiromo from air after Aug. 9. She was fired today. I have also learned that her executive producer Patrick Ignozzi was also fired after the announcement.”

The Daily Beast said, “Maria Bartiromo, 58, was fired from the network on Thursday because she had informed the White House about Fox’s secret instructions to not promote President Donald Trump’s election conspiracies on the air, according to Status.”

Newser said Fox has withheld details of the “departure,” but said, “Bartiromo ‘wanted to pursue a story related to China and 2020 election voting conspiracies … a major sensitivity for the network given its Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits.'”
The 2020 election was, in fact, affected by several undue influences never before seen in American elections. One was the $400 million plus that Mark Zuckerberg handed out, through foundations, to various local election officials who often used it to recruit voters in Democrat districts.
Further, the FBI decided to interfere in the election by claiming that the Biden family scandals documented in a laptop computer abandoned by Hunter Biden as Russian disinformation, when agents knew at the time the information was accurate.
