Is it a case of Clancy contagion?
A horrific incident at Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania this week has echoes of the Massachusetts saga of Lindsay Clancy, whose prosecution for murdering her three children recently ended in a mistrial.
Now, Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, Pennsylvania, is accused of butchering to death her husband, Charles, and their 3-year-old son inside their hotel room Monday before trying to take her own life, telling 9-1-1 dispatchers, “My husband and son are already gone … I’m sorry.”
Police in Pocono Township announced: “On October 12, 2026 at approximately 1513 hours, officers from the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to the Great Wolf Lodge, Scotrun, Pocono Township, room #2030 for a report of a distressed female. The female, identified as Metallica Rose Harrison of Towanda, Pennsylvania, advised the dispatcher that she needed help committing suicide.”
A 27-year-old mother, Metallica Rose Harrison, allegedly stabbed her husband, Charles, and their 3-year-old son to death inside a hotel room at Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos. She then called 911, telling dispatchers, “My husband and son are already gone.”
Police recovered two knives from the bathroom, and Harrison reportedly made suicidal statements after her arrest. The family had recently extended their stay at the resort. She now faces two counts of criminal homicide.

“Officers immediately responded to the room and contact was made with Harrison, who was observed with wounds to her person. While checking the room for the rest of Harrison’s family, Officers located a deceased adult male and a three-year-old male child. Harrison was hospitalized and officers began investigating the deaths as homicides.”
“This case is an isolated domestic tragedy and there is no threat to the community.”
Metallica Harrison is now charged with two counts of criminal homicide, but the motive remains elusive.
A “large butcher kitchen knife” and smaller knife were found in the bathroom, the criminal complaint says.

“This was a violent domestic tragedy in which two people, a boy and his father, lost their lives,” Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso said.
“Every day I work so hard,” Metallica Harrison told EMS, according to a police affidavit obtained by WNEP-TV.
“To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife. It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child.”
She indicated she is “suicidal, not stupid.”

The woman told dispatchers she was “too weak to stab my neck” and “I need police,” according to the complaint, reports WPVI-TV in Philadelphia.
The ABC affiliate indicates:
During the call, Harrison allegedly said she had knives but they were “not working,” and that she needed “help dying,” according to the complaint. When asked if she was alone, she allegedly said that “my husband and son are already gone in the bed,” and, “They’re already gone, I’m sorry,” and did not at any point on the call request help for them, according to the complaint.
Harrison allegedly told responding officers that she “wanted to be with her husband and son,” who were both found dead on mattresses in the room, according to the complaint. Her husband, Charles Harrison, had multiple stab wounds to his chest, while her son, identified in the complaint as T.H., appeared to have a single stab wound to his chest, according to the complaint.
Harrison had cuts on her left wrist and “superficial punctures about the neck,” according to the complaint. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. During the ambulance ride, she allegedly said she took medication to help thin her blood and “expressed verbal frustration that the blood was clotting when wasn’t supposed to,” the complaint stated.
Metallica’s stepmother April Thetga told the New York Post that other family members were shocked the murder weapon was from a set of knives Metallica had brought from home.
“I was told the knives came from her home. Her house. So to me, it was planned,” Thetga told the Post.
🚨 NEW DETAILS: DID METALLICA ROSE HARRISON PLAN TO KILL HER FAMILY WEEKS IN ADVANCE?
The stepmother of Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, who is accused of fatally stabbing her husband Charles and their 3-year-old son Tristan at a Pennsylvania Great Wolf Lodge, is speaking out.
Hours before the killings, Harrison reportedly video-called her family, appeared completely normal, and told them she loved them.
Now, her stepmother, April Thetga, is raising disturbing questions about premeditation.
🔴 Thetga says she was told the knives used in the killings were brought from Harrison’s own home.
🔴 Relatives already found it unusual that the family had been staying at the resort for an extended period.
🔴 Thetga now suspects Harrison may have been planning the killings for weeks.
“I was told the knives came from her home. Her house. So to me, it was planned,” Thetga told the New York Post.
Police recovered a butcher knife from the bathroom floor and a smaller knife from the sink.
Harrison allegedly attacked her own wrists and neck after the killings and called 911 seeking help ending her life.
The family says they have absolutely no idea why this happened.

The family checked in to Great Wolf Lodge Sept. 21 and extended their reservation on Oct. 5.
“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains,” said Jason Lasecki, vice president of corporate communications for Great Wolf Lodge.

“It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected. Out of respect for those involved, as well as the integrity of the investigation, we ask that any further information regarding this matter be directed to Pocono Township Police Department.”
Mancuso told WNEP Tuesday’s charges are just the beginning of the case.
“There’s a lot more testing,” he said. There are post-mortem exams to be conducted, and there is a review of various items of evidence. All of that will be unfolding over the course of the next several months.”
